CAREFUL CLEANING

Below you will find some hints as well as tips and tricks for cleaning jewelry with home remedies. Please use the application with caution. If you have already tried all the home remedies and you want to get the same results as the professionals, we offer you the same products that jewelers use to clean your silver jewelry comfortably at your own home. By using, please note the concentration of the mixture and correct handling. Please use at your own risk.

BASIC

The cleaning method with ammonia should be used with caution or even discouraged: Ammonia is corrosive and therefore can damage not only skin, but also certain materials such as platinum, pearls, gold-plated and blackened silver jewelry as well gold jewelry combined with other metals, materials, or stones.

SILVER JEWELRY

Silver is afraid of water and even air.

Therefore, the silver jewelry should not be stored in damp rooms. It oxidizes and darkens over the time. Especially when the jewelry comes into contact with sulfur (in the air, egg, fish) or chlorine (pool water). To remove sweat and the finest dirt particles, we recommend warm water (with/without soap) and/or a soft, lint-free cotton or microfiber cloth. Supporting professional care products and polish.

GOLD JEWELRY

Gold jewelry also oxidizes over the time, or discoloration can occur when other substances are mixed in.

It is recommended to wipe gold jewelry with a soft cloth (microfiber or suede) every time after wearing it.

You should only use the cleaning method such as immersion in soap or washing-up liquid, denture cleaning tablets, toothpaste and toothbrush, or ammonia cleaning method if the gold jewelry is not set with precious stones or processed with other materials. The warm water in the solution can loosen the glue that is sometimes used to hold the stones in place. Put some washing-up liquid in a container of lukewarm water. Care products and high-gloss polish are recommended.

PRECIOUS STONES / SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES AND CRYSTALS

For precious, semi-precious stones and crystals, a soft cleaning cloth and polishing cloth can be applied regularly.

In the case of hard soiling, washing the jewelry and immersion in the bath are recommended.

DELICATE MATERIALS LIKE MINERALS, PEARLS, CORAL, TURQUOISE, AND OPALS

Professional cleaning and care products do not attack the soft stones and are therefore particularly suitable for sensitive materials such as minerals, pearls, corals, turquoise and opals.

PEARLS

Pearls are natural products and therefore require special care and cleaning. Their surface is very demanding and sensitive to acids (to body sweat). The best way to remove perspiration from pearl jewelry is to use a gentle pearl care cloth after each wear. Pearl immersion baths with a special beading effect that make your pearls shine again are ideal supplements.

FASHION AND TREND JEWELRY

Fashion and trend jewelry should be protected from fresh, salt sea and chlorine water, as well as from perfumes, deodorants, and hair sprays. Gently wiping with a soft cloth will help remove fingerprints and light dirt.

Alternatively, professional jewelry care products are recommended.

JEWELRY WITH ENAMEL

Enamel is very sensitive to knocks and falls, direct sunlight, and high temperatures. This can cause it to fade and crack. It does not tolerate contact with acids, alkalis, and chlorine - with any washing and cleaning agents. It can also be damaged by cosmetics (creams, lotions) and sea water. For cleaning, we recommend using cold water with a soft brush and then wiping with a soft cloth.
